PIPC issues personal data protection guide for generative AI users
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission said on May 19 it published a personal data protection guide for users of generative AI services to address common questions. It said the guide focuses on strengthening users\' AI literacy, based on complaints, policy proposals and consultation cases. The guide visualises how personal data is processed from collection to AI training and service use, and covers user-controlled functions such as opting out of training and managing chat record storage and deletion.

CJ Group employee information leaked on Telegram for three years, company prepares to report to authorities
CJ Group has confirmed that personal information of its employees was leaked via Telegram and is preparing to report the case to investigative and related authorities. Industry sources said names, ranks, mobile phone numbers and photos of about 330 female employees were circulated through a public Telegram channel opened in May 2023, with about 2,800 participants. Some posts included an intranet access URL and details such as work location and hours.
