KT launches information protection advisory committee to strengthen companywide security
KT said on Saturday it has formed an Information Protection Advisory Committee to improve its security posture and strengthen pre-emptive, prevention-focused information protection governance. The committee includes experts in policy and systems, technology and security, industry and services, and AI and zero trust. It will review KT\'s information protection strategy and key policies and propose responses to future threats, including AI-based attacks and misuse of generative AI, while also examining compliance with network and global regulations.

KT to invest 127.6 billion won in information security
KT said on Tuesday it invested 127.6 billion won in information security in fiscal 2025, keeping annual spending above 100 billion won for four consecutive years. The company said the amount ranked third domestically among single firms and was the largest among telecom operators. KT said it has 317 dedicated security staff, including 164 in-house specialists, and is strengthening governance, training and prevention-focused security.

Mythos emerges as AI-driven mobile app attacks surge
Security firms are publishing early experiences of Anthropic’s AI model Mythos, which was first shared on a limited basis with some companies, with Cloudflare standing out. Cloudflare said Mythos is a tool on a different level from earlier general-purpose frontier models, citing attack-chain building and proof generation. Separately, Anthropic is allowing Mythos users to share cyber threat information with other companies exposed to similar vulnerabilities.
