Water installs 123 chargers at 23 highway rest areas, including 62 400-kW units

Water, Bright Energy Partners\' fast electric vehicle charging network, has started operating a charging station at the Cheongju rest area on the Gyeongbu Expressway in the Seoul-bound direction. It said ultra-fast 400-kW charging is now available at a highway rest area in South Korea for the first time. Water plans to build 123 new chargers at 23 rest areas, including 62 units rated at 400 kW, with more than 10 sites to start operating in October.

Second public participation National Growth Fund sales begin, raising 600 billion won

Sales of the second public participation National Growth Fund open on Sept. 30, allowing retail investors to invest in the government’s National Growth Fund programme. The fund will raise 600 billion won and invest in future advanced industries such as AI, semiconductors, energy and biotech. Asset managers including Mirae Asset, KB and Samsung have begun fundraising, while brokerages opened dedicated savings accounts and started sales. The product includes a loss-buffer structure and tax benefits tied to holding requirements.

SpaceX moves to withdraw Dragon, Falcon 9 crewed missions after 2030, widening NASA low Earth orbit gap

SpaceX has told NASA it plans to stop low Earth orbit crewed missions using Crew Dragon and Falcon 9 after 2030, while supporting the International Space Station through 2030. The move could disrupt NASA’s low Earth orbit commercialisation plans and complicate transport for private space stations. NASA has limited ability to compel flights beyond contract obligations. NASA may have to rely more on Boeing’s Starliner, despite higher costs and a limited operating record.
