Solana DeFi\'s Orca and Loopscale merge, relaunch as Formation
Solana-based decentralised exchange Orca and lending platform Loopscale have merged and will launch under the new name Formation, The Block reported on Oct. 7. The combined company will be led by Loopscale co-founder Luke Truitt. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed. Formation aims to combine Orca’s trading infrastructure and Loopscale’s lending and investment products to support asset issuance, fundraising and trading in one place.

At Hoyoland2026, fans pack Genshin Impact and Honkai booths as games move offline
Long lines formed at KINTEX in Goyang on Thursday as visitors waited to try paid and free experiences at Hoyoland2026, an offline event bringing five HoYoverse games together. Some attractions posted 60 to 120 minutes of expected waiting time. HoYoverse Korea said all 34,000 tickets for the four-day event were sold out. The venue offers mission-style experiences, goods, food, stage programmes and cosplay events.

Digital asset alliances emerge as banks, brokerages and asset managers race to team up
South Korea\'s financial sector is moving competitively to form digital asset alliances, as brokerages expand exchange investment and token securities while banks and asset managers accelerate partnerships. Shinhan Financial Group signed an agreement with Visa to verify stablecoin platform functions and design models for the domestic market. Woori Bank and Coupang completed a proof of concept for real-time settlement. K Bank, Toss and Jeonbuk Bank also announced tie-ups, while some banks invest directly in custody firms as lawmakers debate digital asset legislation.
