Anthropic launches Claude Opus 5.5, raising speed 30 percent and cutting costs 40 percent

Anthropic on Sept. 22 unveiled its new AI model Claude Opus 5.5. The company said it delivers performance similar to the higher-tier Claude Fable 5.1 on many tasks while cutting typical workload costs by 40 percent versus Claude Opus 5 and boosting output speed by more than 30 percent. The model is available across Claude subscriptions and via the Claude API and major cloud platforms. Anthropic also detailed pricing, developer settings, benchmarks, early use cases and safety assessments.

Security researchers say they accessed OpenAI employee ChatGPT account using Claude

Hacktron AI\'s security research team showed it could access an OpenAI employee\'s ChatGPT account using Anthropic\'s Claude, the Wall Street Journal reported. The team found the issue while participating in OpenAI\'s bug bounty program and reported it immediately. OpenAI paid a $6,500 reward. OpenAI said vulnerabilities were found in Discourse and within OpenAI, and it narrowed token permissions and revoked affected tokens and sessions.

Novo Nordisk teams up with Anthropic in race to speed up drug development

Novo Nordisk is partnering with Anthropic to shorten drug development timelines by applying the Claude model across its research and development process. The companies plan to build tailored AI tools focused on biological reasoning and to test Anthropic\'s Claude Science in selected workflows. They will include data governance rules and human oversight. Claude Science connects to more than 60 scientific databases and supports prebuilt tools for multiple disciplines.
