Samsung Electronics adds remote monitoring to SmartThings Family Care
Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it has strengthened remote family-care functions through a SmartThings update. The update adds new features to the Family Care service, including Care on Call, remote monitoring and Care Insight, and links Family Care with Galaxy Now Brief. It also connects a reassurance patrol function using the 2026 Bespoke AI Steam Ultra robot vacuum cleaner. SmartThings information is also integrated into Now Brief across phones and will expand to TVs and Family Hub refrigerators.

Samsung to expand Apple AirDrop-compatible sharing to more Galaxy flagships including S24, S25
Samsung Electronics may expand an option in its Quick Share file-sharing feature that supports sharing with Apple devices to more flagship models, a report said. PhoneArena cited an insider on One UI as saying the feature could arrive after the next One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S24 and S25 series and the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7. Some users have reported the option does not work or does not appear, amid suggestions of a phased regional rollout.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra wins MWC best product award
Samsung Electronics has won the top prize at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona with its Galaxy S26 Ultra. GSMA said on Wednesday it awarded the smartphone the Best in Show prize. The award is selected by a panel of analysts, journalists and influencers. Samsung said the model combines hardware with One UI 8.5 software, enhanced Galaxy AI and security and privacy features, including a first-in-the-world privacy display.
