Would a bank charter make crypto safer? Two sides of U.S. federal trust bank approval
An analysis says crypto firms may not fully escape political pressure or supervisory risks even if they obtain a U.S. federal trust bank charter. The article contrasts interpretations of Silvergate’s liquidation and notes conditional approvals for several trust bank moves. It adds that regulators retain control through approval conditions and revised supervisory rules.

US crypto industry\'s \'Clarity Act\' faces risk of failing this year
Prospects for passing the U.S. crypto market-structure bill known as the Clarity Act this year have become shakier in September, with industry pessimism rising. The Senate has scheduled a procedural vote on Sept. 15, but final passage would still require floor debate and further negotiations. Key disputes include stablecoin rewards and ethics provisions tied to President Donald Trump and his family’s crypto interests. Even if it fails, some expect limited immediate impact as regulators take a friendlier stance.
