LG Energy Solution strengthens supply chain with shared growth pact
LG Energy Solution is expanding support programmes for partner companies to strengthen a shared-growth framework in its supply chain. The company said on May 7 it held a “shared growth partnership agreement ceremony” at its Ochang energy plant in North Chungcheong province a day earlier. About 20 people attended, including Democratic Party lawmaker Song Jae-bong and company executives. The pact aims to comply with fair-trade laws and boost mutual competitiveness through cooperation.

LG Energy Solution posts Q1 operating loss of 207.8 billion won, swings to red
LG Energy Solution posted a first-quarter operating loss of 207.8 billion won due to initial costs from expanding its North American energy storage system production base, and lower volumes of EV pouch products for a strategic customer. Revenue fell 2.5 percent from a year earlier to 6.56 trillion won but rose 1.2 percent from the previous quarter. The company said North American production incentives reflected in results totaled 189.8 billion won.

Ecopro secures Canadian government R&D funding for lithium metal anodes
Ecopro said on April 12 its sub-subsidiary Ecopro Lithium secured C$6 million in research and development funding from Natural Resources Canada. The support comes under the Canadian government\'s Energy Innovation Program to build a domestic battery supply chain. Ecopro Innovation said it will use the funds to advance a demonstration project for lithium metal anode processes for next-generation batteries, aiming to establish a full local value chain in Canada by March 2027.
