Ecopro secures Canadian government R&D funding for lithium metal anodes
Ecopro said on April 12 its sub-subsidiary Ecopro Lithium secured C$6 million in research and development funding from Natural Resources Canada. The support comes under the Canadian government\'s Energy Innovation Program to build a domestic battery supply chain. Ecopro Innovation said it will use the funds to advance a demonstration project for lithium metal anode processes for next-generation batteries, aiming to establish a full local value chain in Canada by March 2027.

LG Energy Solution is stepping up its entry into the robot battery market and is in talks with six robot makers on battery supply and development of next-generation models. The company reported fourth-quarter revenue of 6.14 trillion won and an operating loss of 122.0 billion won, while starting shipments of its 46-series cylindrical cells. It also outlined plans to expand ESS production and target revenue growth this year.
