Sony tests user-specific dynamic pricing on PlayStation Store
Sony is testing a dynamic pricing policy on the PlayStation Store that presents different prices to different users, tracking site PSPrices said, as cited by TechRadar. The A/B test began in November 2025 with 30 regions and 50 games and has expanded to more than 70 regions and over 190 games. Some users reported seeing lower-than-standard prices, with personalised discounts up to 12.6 percent. PSPrices said U.S. discounts reached 27.8 percent.

Samsung Display registers trademark for QD-OLED five-layer stacking technology
Samsung Display said on Wednesday it has announced the QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology brand and completed trademark registration. Penta Tandem is a five-layer organic material light-emitting structure applied to QD-OLED panels for premium monitors and TVs. The company said it switched the blue OLED stacking structure from four layers to five and that the technology offers higher efficiency and longer life. It plans to expand the technology to all sizes this year.

Samsung Display develops technology with Intel to cut laptop power use by 22 percent
Samsung Display said on Jan. 7 it has developed SmartPower HDR with Intel, a technology that cuts OLED emission power consumption in laptop HDR mode by as much as 22 percent. The method varies driving voltage depending on content, addressing fixed-voltage HDR modes that can waste power in low-demand use such as web browsing and document work. The companies said it analyzes peak brightness per frame on the laptop SoC and adjusts voltage via the T-CON.
