DeepSeek Harness spreads in developer community as plug-in-based design draws attention

DeepSeek\'s open-source AI agent runtime, DeepSeek Harness, is spreading quickly in developer communities after receiving positive reviews. Built on Node.js and released under the MIT licence as a developer preview on GitHub, it gained more than 33,000 stars within hours of launch, a report said. It features an “everything is a plug-in” design and offers four execution modes, while supporting multiple AI platforms.

Nvidia AI CPU \'Vera\' posts first benchmark results, close to AMD EPYC

Nvidia\'s next-generation AI-focused CPU, Vera, delivered performance close to AMD\'s top-end EPYC lineup in public benchmarks, and led in some areas. Tests cited by online outlet Gigazine showed strong single-socket results and near dual-socket flagship EPYC performance in some code compilation tasks. The benchmarks were based on measurements by Linux-focused outlet Phoronix. Vera uses Nvidia-designed Olympus cores, supports FP8 and PCIe 6 and is aimed at data centres.

MSIT to recruit 300 mentees for Open Source Contribution Academy

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will recruit mentees for the 2026 Open Source Contribution Academy from May 12 to June 14, it said. The practice-focused programme allows participants to contribute to real projects under guidance from leader-level developers. Applicants include students and developers with basic software development skills. Selected mentees will receive about 13 weeks of online and offline mentoring across 11 projects.
