With Switch 2 just $100 more, buying a new old Switch looks less attractive
After the launch of Nintendo’s Switch 2, the value of the original Switch is shifting toward the secondhand market. New Switch and Switch OLED units sell for $339.99 and $399.99, compared with $499.99 for Switch 2, narrowing the gap to about $100. Used consoles are far cheaper and still offer access to a large game library. Buyers of used units are advised to check battery life, Joy-Con drift and ports.

Original Nintendo Switch nears 10th anniversary, core services to continue
The original Nintendo Switch is entering a generational transition, but existing devices will not become unusable immediately. Nintendo has not announced a separate date to end all services for the early Switch model, and plans to keep key services such as the eShop and Nintendo Switch Online operating for the time being. The Switch ecosystem is expected to scale back in stages, with hardware sales, digital storefront functions, software releases and online features potentially reduced at different times.

Nintendo\'s Virtual Boy returns 30 years after short-lived 1995 flop
Nintendo\'s worst-performing game console was the Virtual Boy released in 1995, not the GameCube or Wii U, and it disappeared in under a year with sales below 1 million units. The tabletop, binocular-style device used stereoscopic 3D but was uncomfortable and displayed only red graphics on a black background. Many users reported eye strain and headaches. Limited software also hurt. Nintendo has added Virtual Boy classics to Switch Online + Expansion Pack, requiring an accessory for 3D.
