Apple to unveil new products on Oct. 28; touchscreen MacBook Pro and OLED iPad mini possible

Apple will hold a new product event on Oct. 28 and is expected to present updates to major products such as the MacBook Pro and iPad mini. Foreign media reported the company released a teaser using the phrase “Pro and tell” and will host a media hands-on event in Los Angeles starting at 10 a.m. Pacific time. The event is expected to focus on product demonstrations rather than a keynote.

Battery seen as most noticeable iPhone 18 Pro upgrade

Battery improvements are drawing attention as the most noticeable change for the iPhone 18 Pro, seen as more practical in daily use than a variable-aperture camera, new Siri and the A20 Pro chip. TechRadar called battery life the phone’s “game changer”. Apple says video playback reaches up to 34 hours on models with physical SIM support, and streaming video up to 31 hours. eSIM-only models can reach 36 hours.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: key changes from previous models

Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, highlighting a variable-aperture main camera, the next-generation A20 Pro chip, improved battery life and better heat control. Pre-orders start on Sept. 12 and the phones go on sale on Sept. 18. Apple did not announce a standard iPhone 18 and will continue selling the iPhone 17. Prices rose in the United States and Japan, and some existing models also became more expensive in Japan.
