Apple M6 MacBook Pro to launch this fall; three key upgrades to watch

Apple is expected to launch a 14-inch M6 MacBook Pro this fall, keeping the current design while boosting AI processing, baseline computing performance and power efficiency. The upgrade centers on the M6 chip, including a dual 16-core Neural Engine aimed at AI workloads and broader AI use in macOS 27. The base chip moves to a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU and adds a three-tier CPU core mix. Apple also applies a 2-nanometre process for improved power efficiency.

Xiaomi unveils three in-house XRING chipsets, targets AI and autonomous driving beyond smartphones

Xiaomi unveiled three self-developed XRING chips, led by the 3-nanometre Xring O3 mobile processor slated to debut in the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China next month. The company said the chip uses TSMC’s 3-nanometre process and claimed an in-house AnTuTu score above 5 million. Xiaomi also introduced a 6-nanometre AI accelerator, Xring O100, and an autonomous-driving chip, Xring D100, both targeting commercialisation in 2027.
