Romin raises investment from Naver Cloud to expand cloud-based document AI business

Document AI agent company Romin said on Tuesday it has secured a strategic investment from Naver Cloud and will expand its cloud-based document AI business. Romin said Naver Cloud joined the investment after considering Romin’s implementation references in the public and financial sectors and the scalability of its document automation business. The companies said they will broaden cooperation to strengthen their response to industry-specific AX markets.

Korea AI Cloud Industry Association launches CSP subcommittee to strengthen domestic CSP cooperation

The Korea AI Cloud Industry Association said on May 20 it has officially launched a Cloud Service Provider subcommittee to strengthen cooperation among domestic CSPs and jointly discuss issues facing the AI and cloud industry. The group also held its first subcommittee meeting on May 18, attended by six companies: KT Cloud, Naver Cloud, Kakao Enterprise, Gabia, NHN Cloud and Samsung SDS. Participants discussed policy and industry issues including AI infrastructure investment, GPU supply and rising data centre energy costs.

Naver Cloud aims to be \'salt-like\' AI infrastructure company in global market

Naver Cloud plans to target the global business-to-business market by leveraging its capabilities in operating AI infrastructure, aiming to meet rising demand in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Japan and Europe. CEO Kim Yu-won said competition in AI is shifting from models to infrastructure and that competitiveness requires combining models, GPUs, cloud, data centres, security and service application capabilities. The company will pursue customised AI infrastructure and expand work with Dell Technologies.
