Naver Cloud said on Sept. 7 that its collaboration platform Line Works has been adopted as the official collaboration tool for Hsinchu City in Taiwan. Line Works is the overseas service name for Naver Works.

The adoption is Line Works' first large-scale cooperation case with a Taiwan administrative agency. Naver Cloud said it plans to use this as a springboard to expand its business to other local governments and public institutions in Taiwan.

Hsinchu City is a major science and technology hub in Taiwan, home to industrial parks and clusters of semiconductor and IT companies including TSMC. The city adopted Line Works for smart city development and an AI-based digital transformation project for public administration, the company said.

Naver Cloud and Hsinchu City also plan to jointly pursue research and pilot projects on administrative applications using AI and digital technologies. They will also conduct demonstration projects to improve efficiency in administrative work and services for residents.

Line Works has secured more than 150 local companies and institutions and more than 10,000 users in about 10 months since its official launch in Taiwan.

Naver Cloud said it will expand its push into Taiwan's public sector market based on its experience in Japan's business collaboration tools market and the Hsinchu City adoption case.
