KT Hope Sharing Foundation to hold 2026 K-AI content contest with 54 million won in prize money
KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation will hold the 2026 K-AI Content Contest to find AI-based content and ideas for solving social problems, linked to the Ministry of Science and ICT’s nationwide AI competition. Entries will be accepted July 1-15 and are open from elementary students to the general public. The contest has content and solution categories and includes an AI ethics pledge. Winners will be announced in early August, with 54 million won in prizes across 44 works.

MSIT says it has laid groundwork for South Korea to become a top 3 AI power
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it has laid the groundwork for the country to become one of the world’s top three AI powers over the past year, alongside restoring the R&D ecosystem and guaranteeing basic communications rights. It said it is pushing plans to secure 260,000 advanced GPUs by 2030 and has introduced AI-related laws. The ministry also plans to roll out “AI for Everyone” starting as early as November, aiming to keep it free through 2028.

Science ministry, finance ministry to hold AI innovation challenge for public agencies
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Finance and Economy will hold a Public Agency AI Innovation Challenge, organised by the National Information Society Agency. The event is one of 14 tracks under a nationwide AI competition that opened on March 26. It will run in two divisions covering AI service demonstrations and proofs of concept, and best practices in using AI. Public agencies can apply from June 1 to Aug. 28.
