South Korea\'s science panel sends protest letter over U.S. House \'Coupang report\'

South Korea’s parliamentary Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee sent a protest letter to the U.S. House Judiciary Committee over a report that assessed a Coupang hearing as a case of discrimination against a U.S. company. The committee said the report largely reflected a specific company’s claims and did not sufficiently capture the hearing’s purpose and procedures. It said the joint hearing was legally held and addressed issues including data leaks and consumer protection.

Korean assembly science committee clashes over Lee Jin-sook appointment, adjourns meeting

South Korea’s National Assembly Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee adjourned its first full meeting of the second half of the parliamentary session on Wednesday after ruling and opposition parties clashed over the assignment of People Power Party lawmaker Lee Jin-sook. Democratic Party lawmakers raised possible conflicts of interest and sought an ethics review and a resolution to remove her from the committee. The meeting ended before selecting the ruling party’s floor leader for the committee.
