Korean game makers head to Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show to test new titles

NCSoft targets 5 trillion won revenue by 2030 with predictable growth model
NCSoft plans to move away from an MMORPG-heavy business model and build a predictable growth model, it said. The company aims to generate cash from existing IP such as Lineage while diversifying into shooting, subculture and action RPG games and mobile casual titles. It outlined three growth pillars: upgrading legacy IP, expanding new IP through in-house development and publishing, and scaling mobile casual games using data-driven testing and live operations.

NCSOFT\'s North America unit signs global publishing deal for tactical shooter Defect
NCSOFT\'s North America unit NC America has secured global publishing rights for Defect, a new shooter game, it said on Wednesday. Defect is a tactical first-person shooter in development at U.S. independent studio Empty Vessel. NCSOFT made a strategic equity investment in Empty Vessel in May last year. The Unreal Engine 5-based title is being developed for multiple platforms including PC.
