Minnesota ban on crypto ATMs takes effect; existing machines to be removed by year-end
Minnesota has banned the operation of cryptocurrency kiosks, with a new law taking effect after Governor Tim Walz signed SF 3868 on May 5. Under the law, operators may not install, run or maintain crypto ATMs in the state. Existing machines had to be deactivated by Aug. 1, and those in places visible or accessible to the public must be removed by Dec. 31.
