LG Uplus builds broadcast circuit for North America World Cup to boost stability over 14,000 km
LG Uplus is building an international broadcast relay circuit linking North America to South Korea ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It will provide dedicated relay lines to domestic host broadcasters during the tournament starting on June 11. The company will diversify undersea cable routes over about 14,000 km into six lines, distribute content to two domestic hubs, and apply hitless protection technology. It is also preparing internet-based SRT and wireless MNG backups.

New broadcast media telecoms commission holds first parliamentary briefing, focuses on relicensing, AI and integrated media law
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission on Monday held its first work briefing at a National Assembly committee meeting, about two months after Chair Kim Jong-cheol was appointed. Lawmakers focused on delayed relicensing of broadcasters, controversies over universal viewing rights and moves to enact an integrated media law. Discussions also covered Grok AI deepfake sexual exploitation, youth overdependence on social media and preparations for enforcement rules for the amended Information and Communications Network Act.

Woori Financial Group dispatches university supporters to Milan
Woori Financial Group said on Feb. 10 it will dispatch a university student correspondent team, Team Woori Supporters, to Milan to convey the atmosphere of the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics. The team will stay from Feb. 16 to 22 and cover the women’s figure skating singles free and short track men’s and women’s relay finals. It will also report from a Korea House and conduct interviews with athletes.
