KT in-house AI Mideum K 2.5 Pro wins AI reliability certification

KT said on Tuesday its in-house large language model Mideum K 2.5 Pro received the AI Trustworthiness Certification 2.0 (CAT) from the Telecommunications Technology Association. CAT is a private voluntary certification that evaluates governance reliability across AI adoption and operation. KT said the model is a 32 billion-parameter system designed for business-to-business use, and it posted top-tier results in AAII V3.0 and about 87 percent in Tau-Square.

KT joins World IT Show with \'Ieum\' theme, showcasing AI and 6G future

KT said on April 21 it will take part in World IT Show 2026 at COEX in Seoul from April 22 to 24 under the theme of “Ieum.” The company will showcase its artificial intelligence transformation (AX) platform vision and 27 innovation technology items, including 6G. Visitors can experience KT’s AI model “Mideum K Pro,” view agentic AI contact centre and security services, and see industry applications. KT will also offer interactive AI experiences tied to content and entertainment.

Korea mobile carriers\' earnings split on hacking and subscriber shifts; SKT slips, KT and LG Uplus grow

South Korea\'s three mobile carriers posted combined revenue of 607.951 trillion won and operating profit of 4.4344 trillion won last year, up 3 percent and 26.8 percent, respectively. SK Telecom\'s revenue and operating profit fell 4.7 percent and 41.1 percent amid customer losses and response costs following a hacking incident. KT and LG Uplus reported growth, with KT boosted by one-off factors and subscriber gains. The carriers plan to expand AI-related businesses this year.
