Meta shares surge 27 percent in September on \'Muse\' hit, best month since 2022
Meta shares rose 27 percent in September, marking the strongest monthly gain since 2022, CNBC reported. The stock closed at $725.18, up sharply from $572.34 at end-August, as investors focused on Meta\'s personal AI agent app Muse, which overtook OpenAI\'s ChatGPT in Apple iOS downloads. Meta also highlighted AI at its Connect developer event and unveiled new hardware. Competition is intensifying as OpenAI launched its Dots agent tool.

Meta unveils Muse Spark 1.3, claims performance rivals Anthropic and OpenAI models
Meta unveiled Muse Spark 1.3, its most powerful large language model to date, and said it has narrowed the performance gap with major AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic. The company began providing the model through the Meta Model API on a paid basis for developers. Meta’s chief AI officer said the model posts its largest performance gains yet, citing strengths in coding and agent automation. Independent rankings placed variants near top competitors.

Meta unveils real-time speech recognition model Muse Voice Transcribe
Meta unveiled Muse Voice Transcribe on Sept. 1, a real-time AI model that transcribes speech and distinguishes speakers. The company said it can handle conversations involving more than 20 people and recognise multilingual and mixed-language dialogue, including Korean. Developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs, it processes audio in 80-millisecond units and uses adaptive latency to balance accuracy and speed. Meta said it ranked first in an Artificial Analysis streaming test with a 3.1 percent word error rate.
