McLaren P1 battery upgrade triples capacity, cuts weight by 23 kg
A replacement high-voltage battery upgrade for the McLaren P1 has been released, aimed at addressing performance decline in early-production cars. UK-based V Engineering unveiled its Project Continuum swap-in battery, described as a plug-and-play replacement for the original McLaren unit. Using 21700 lithium-ion cells, it raises total capacity to 12.4 kWh from 4.72 kWh and is about 23 kg lighter.

Dell Technologies showcased its technology portfolio at Dell Technologies World 2026 in Las Vegas, displaying products and partner booths across servers, storage, security and AI data centre infrastructure. The solution expo featured new offerings such as PowerStore Elite storage, 18th-generation PowerEdge servers and PowerProtect One security. Exhibits highlighted Dell’s push to support enterprise AI adoption with data storage, protection and operational infrastructure, alongside partner displays including McLaren F1, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Intel and AMD.

Dell Technologies steps up technology cooperation with McLaren Racing
Dell Technologies said on Feb. 19 it is strengthening its partnership with McLaren Racing and plans to use its AI infrastructure and PC portfolio to improve McLaren\'s Formula One performance. The company said its technology supports car development, simulation and trackside operations. McLaren uses Dell servers, HPC and storage products to process about 1.5 terabytes of data per race weekend and run modelling and CFD workloads. Dell PCs and Alienware systems are also used.
