Expectations for U.S. passage this year of the Clarity cryptocurrency market-structure bill have fallen sharply, with Polymarket putting the odds at 27 percent on July 29, CryptoSlate reported. Departures by key crypto policy figures in the Treasury, the White House, the SEC and the Senate have added to concerns. The bill has cleared the Senate Banking Committee but still faces a full Senate vote and hurdles including ethics provisions, banking opposition and election-year scheduling.

\'Crypto mom\' Hester Peirce to step down from U.S. SEC in November
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission commissioner Hester Peirce, who has led the agency\'s cryptocurrency task force, is set to step down in November after being appointed an associate professor at Regent University School of Law in Virginia. Her departure is expected to widen leadership vacancies at the SEC. With no replacement named, the SEC would be left with only Chair Paul Atkins and commissioner Mark Uyeda, both Republicans.
