Runpod unveils Flash Python SDK to simplify AI inference deployment
Runpod has released an open-source Python SDK called Flash to reduce infrastructure burden when deploying AI code to production environments, Techzine reported on Sunday. The company said Flash lets developers turn local Python functions into autoscaling endpoints in minutes without building containers, managing images or configuring infrastructure. It is available under the MIT license via PyPI and GitHub and supports queue-based processing and load-balanced endpoints.

Cloudflare unveils AI-native CMS EmDash, challenges WordPress
Cloud and security company Cloudflare has unveiled an open-source content management system (CMS) called EmDash, aiming to provide an alternative to WordPress, SiliconANGLE reported on April 2. Cloudflare said EmDash is designed for serverless and edge environments and separates plugin privileges. It said the system sandboxes plugins and controls access through explicit permissions. Cloudflare also said AI agents automate recurring operational tasks such as content migration and schema changes.

China AI startup Z.ai open-sources GLM-OCR document understanding model
Chinese AI startup Z.ai has open-sourced GLM-OCR, a multimodal optical character recognition model tailored for document understanding. The company says the 900 million-parameter model analyses layouts and recognises text in two stages, aiming to improve accuracy on complex documents. Z.ai reported a 94.62 score on OmniDocBench V1.5 and said the model can run locally, processing PDFs and images quickly and exporting results as HTML or JSON.
