Tom Lee says Ethereum will outperform Bitcoin as BitMine holds 5.93 million ETH
BitMine Immersion Technologies bought an additional 28,086 ether, taking its holdings to 4.9 percent of total Ethereum supply. Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee said Ethereum could outperform Bitcoin in coming years, citing growth in real-world asset tokenisation and agentic AI use cases. BitMine said most of its ether is staked and projected annual staking income based on a 2.61 percent annualised yield. Ethereum and BitMine shares fell in recent trading.

Bitmine slows Ethereum buying ahead of 5 percent target
Bitmine Immersion Technologies has sharply slowed its pace of Ethereum buying, raising attention to softer demand from the biggest corporate buyer as a market variable. The company said it has secured 4.8 percent of circulating Ethereum after adding 7,391 ETH last week, its smallest weekly purchase this year. Bitmine has recently put more emphasis on buying back its own shares. Arkham Intelligence estimates Bitmine is at 96 percent of its 5 percent target.

BitMine increased its ether holdings to 5.78 million tokens, securing 4.8 percent of total circulating supply. Over the past week it added 7,430 ether, moving closer to its goal of accumulating 5 percent of circulating supply. About 4.9 million ether, or roughly 85 percent of its holdings, are staked. The company listed total assets of $11.5 billion, including 207 bitcoin and $385 million in cash and marketable securities.
