AIBIX Lab releases Korea’s first AI brand competitiveness index
AIBIX Lab on Wednesday released AIBIX, a Korean index that measures AI brand competitiveness across 715 brands in 30 F&B and franchise categories. The index analyzes how often brands appear in repeated questions to four generative AI models, their share of mentions and whether official sources are cited. Results showed market leaders were not always top in AI rankings and winners differed by AI. Official brand materials were rarely cited.

One month after SPC launches SMDH holding company, major fire undercuts safety push
SPC Group has marked one month since launching holding company Sangmidang Holdings (SMDH) to strengthen accountable management and safety. A major fire at its Siheung plant has put SPC’s safety management back under scrutiny, especially as the same site saw a fatal machinery accident last May. Fire authorities said 3 of 12 workers inhaled smoke and suffered minor injuries. The plant shutdown disrupted B2B supply, though production shifted to other facilities and supply resumed on Feb. 5.

Lotte GRS opens first Lotteria outlet at Singapore\'s Changi Airport
Lotte GRS said on Feb. 11 it opened Lotteria’s first outlet in Singapore on Feb. 10 at Jewel Changi Airport, marking the brand’s seventh overseas market. The store is on the B1 level of the complex shopping mall and is designed for about 60 seats. It offers the same burger lineup as in South Korea, including signature items and Korean-style reinterpretations such as the kimchi bulgogi burger.
