Ripple executive says crypto payments resemble early e-commerce and will gradually become everyday

Ripple said the cryptocurrency payments market could follow a growth path similar to e-commerce. According to U.Today, Ripple\'s Middle East and Africa head Reece Merrick said in a post on X that crypto payments are nearing an inflection point that could shake the global financial system. He compared today\'s market to early-2000s e-commerce and said adoption will grow as scalable layer1 blockchains, liquid stablecoins and regulated fiat on-ramps are put in place.

Ethereum Foundation wraps up reorganisation, shifts focus to protocol and institutional support

The Ethereum Foundation has completed a months-long reorganisation and cut 54 staff, about 20 percent of its workforce. It has restructured around five domain clusters and will focus on strengthening the protocol and supporting the ecosystem. The new structure adds an operations cluster and teams reporting directly to management, with separate internal structures and performance metrics for each cluster. Severance is set at the higher of a tenure-based formula or local legal standards.

Ethereum layer2 Taiko chain state verification mechanism breached, $1.7 million loss

Ethereum-based layer2 network Taiko confirmed a breach of its chain state verification mechanism, The Block reported. Taiko said all bridges deployed on the protocol were no longer safe and strongly urged users to withdraw funds immediately. It asked centralized exchanges to suspend deposits of the Taiko native token until further notice. Taiko later said the exploit was blocked and withdrawals via its layer1 bridge and ERC20 vault were fully halted.
