LG Uplus to start USIM updates and free replacements from April 13
LG Uplus said on April 12 it will begin USIM updates and free replacements for all customers from April 13 to provide safer telecom services. The move applies a new security system that introduces random numbers into the subscriber identity number (IMSI) framework. Customers can check eligibility on the U+one app and the company website, with online updates available for some. Store service will be handled by reservation, with added staff deployed and support extended to welfare centers and active-duty soldiers.

LG Uplus says 55,576 apply on first day of SIM replacement reservations
LG Uplus said more than 55,000 customers applied on the first day of reservations to visit stores for SIM updates and free replacement, after controversy over exposure of International Mobile Subscriber Identity numbers. As of 8 p.m. on April 8, 55,576 people had booked visits. Of them, 51,688 were mobile network operator customers and 3,888 were MVNO customers. The company plans to begin SIM updates and replacements sequentially from April 13.

LG Uplus to run reservation system for SIM update, free replacement
LG Uplus will run a store-visit reservation system through its U+one app and website so customers can receive SIM updates and free replacements more conveniently. The company will roll out SIM updates and free replacements to all customers in phases from April 13. Customers can book a store, date and time slot from April 8. LG Uplus said it aims to reduce inconvenience from concentrated inquiries and visits.
