LG Uplus is running a store-visit reservation system through the U+one app and its website so customers can conveniently receive SIM updates and free replacements.
LG Uplus will sequentially roll out SIM updates and free replacements to all customers from April 13. From April 8, customers can use the 'store visit reservation' menu in the U+one app and on the LG Uplus website to choose a store, date and time slot and make a reservation.
The reservation system was set up to reduce inconvenience that could occur if customer service inquiries and store visits concentrate during a specific period. LG Uplus has been sending customers text message guidance on SIM updates and free replacements in phases since March 30. It completed a total of 16.41 million text message notifications by April 7.
Customers eligible for SIM updates can take action directly from April 13 through the U+one app or the LG Uplus website. Customers who want a SIM update or SIM replacement at a store can visit after making a reservation. LG Uplus will operate a company-wide customer care situation room in the early stage of implementation and conduct comprehensive checks of SIM inventory, store operations and customer inquiries to minimise inconvenience.
Lee Jae-won (이재원), head of LG Uplus' consumer division and a vice president, said, "We prepared the reservation system and on-site operating framework together so customers can receive SIM updates and free replacements more conveniently and stably." He added, "We will do our best to minimise customer inconvenience and apply a more strengthened security system without disruption."
