Hana Bank launches savings product offering up to 11 percent based on national team results
Hana Bank is reintroducing a savings product whose interest rate changes depending on the South Korean national football team’s results in an international tournament held in June. The bank said it launched the BEST 11 savings plan on June 1. The product is sold until June 24, limited to 30,000 accounts, with a six-month term and monthly deposits of 10,000 to 200,000 won. The maximum rate is 11 percent a year.

Kakao Shopping runs Lunar New Year promotions, expands Gift and Tokdeal benefits
Kakao said on Feb. 5 it will run Lunar New Year promotions on KakaoTalk Gift and Tokdeal, offering deals covering holiday preparations and gifting. KakaoTalk Gift will hold a planning exhibition focused on popular seasonal products through Feb. 18, including premium delivery items and exclusive products. Customers paying at least 150,000 won with KakaoPay Money can get an instant 10 percent discount, capped at 20,000 won. Tokdeal will run Tokdeal Week through 5 p.m. on Feb. 9 and follow with relay planning exhibitions for holiday food.

KT M Mobile reaches 1.9 million budget phone subscribers, launches customer thank-you event
KT M Mobile said on Tuesday it became the first budget mobile provider in South Korea to reach 1.9 million subscribers. It added more than 200,000 subscribers in about a year after hitting 1.7 million in December 2024, citing stronger everyday benefits and improved convenience such as self-activation and AI-based services. The company is running a thank-you event for all customers through Jan. 31, with prizes for 190 winners and eSIM roaming coupons for all participants.
