Song Kyung-hee to step up field visits as privacy watchdog shifts to prevention
Song Kyung-hee, chair of South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission, will step up on-site visits to help settle new privacy systems as the commission shifts its policy focus from post-incident sanctions to prevention in 2026. Song started the initiative on Jan. 13 with a visit to the Korea Social Security Information Service and a meeting with public-agency chief privacy officers. The commission plans rule changes to strengthen CEO accountability and CPO authority.
