MSIT to hold one-panel comic contest imagining the future of science and technology
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity will hold a one-panel comic contest themed \"In 10 years, how science and technology will change our lives.\" The contest has two categories: an original one-panel comic and a generative AI one-panel comic, with separate student and adult divisions. Submissions run from July 20 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 18. A total of 18 works will be awarded, with 20.5 million won in prize money.

Vice minister Gu Hyeok-chae vows policy innovation to make science culture accessible to all
Gu Hyeok-chae (구혁채), first vice minister of South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, pledged to innovate science culture policy to improve public access. The ministry held the 2026 Korea Science Festival with the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity and the National Research Foundation of Korea at KINTEX in Ilsan, integrated with the Korea Science and Technology Exhibition. Events included mentoring for students and an AI co-scientist challenge awarding 16 teams.

South Korea science ministry holds public vote on Korea science festival programs
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity will hold a public vote from April 20 to 22 to select the most anticipated programmes ahead of the opening of the \'2026 Korea Science Festival with Korea Science and Technology Fair\'. The festival runs April 24 to 26 at KINTEX, with 117 organisations operating 319 programmes, including AI-related exhibits and hands-on activities.
