K-battery searches for turnaround card at InterBattery 2026

InterBattery 2026 opened in Seoul with 667 companies from 14 countries and 2,382 booths, as industry officials voiced concern over Korean battery makers\' shrinking global share and weaker factory utilisation. Executives said cost competitiveness and supply-chain and protectionist pressures are risks. Companies presented strategies focused on energy storage systems, solid-state batteries and growth markets such as robots and urban air mobility. Plans also included moving into LFP cathode materials and expanding production scale.
