K-battery searches for turnaround card at InterBattery 2026

POSCO Future M CEO Eom Gi-cheon named 9th head of Korea Battery Industry Association
The Korea Battery Industry Association said it appointed POSCO Future M CEO Eom Gi-cheon (엄기천) as its ninth chairman at a 2026 board meeting and general assembly in Seoul. Eom will lead the association for two years. He said the industry must evolve beyond cell-focused growth to a more integrated value chain and expand battery applications. The association also expanded its executive group by appointing Vitzrocell and JR Energy Solution to new roles.
