Tesla selected as main supplier for U.S. record 2,500 electric Class 8 truck order
Tesla has been selected as the primary supplier for a record U.S. order of 2,500 battery-electric Class 8 trucks, a volume that could nearly double the electric Class 8 fleet on U.S. roads. The order was placed by ZET SCALE, a new shippers’ alliance launched by Catalyst Mobility and Smart Freight Centre, which named Kenworth, Volvo and RIDE as secondary suppliers. The trucks are to be deployed over the next several years across 10 logistics hubs.
