Kakao launches \'Tech for Impact Campus\' at 13 universities nationwide
Kakao Impact Foundation said on Sept. 3 it will start the second-semester 2026 programme of its \'Tech for Impact Campus\' at 13 universities nationwide for 355 students. The course pairs students with social innovation organisations to develop ways to solve social issues using AI and digital technology. The programme began in 2023 at KAIST and had 482 students at nine universities through the first semester.

Kakao publishes \'Yellow Book\' smartphone guide for people in their 60s and 70s
Kakao Impact Foundation said on Tuesday it published \'Yellow Book\', a practical smartphone guide for people in their 60s and 70s, and is selling it on KakaoMakers. The book includes 100 everyday functions such as adjusting KakaoTalk font size, hailing taxis via Kakao T, sending mobile coupons, transferring money with Kakao Pay, using Kakao Map, planning trips with AI and setting phone security. Proceeds will be donated to senior digital education, along with a separate donation campaign.

Kakao expands senior AI education outside Seoul area to 70 percent
Kakao will expand senior-focused digital education by increasing the share of programmes outside the Seoul metropolitan area to 70 percent and adding artificial intelligence courses. Kakao Impact Foundation said it will run its 2026 travelling senior digital school for 3,000 people at 150 institutions, with 353 institutions applying. It will introduce AI training including ChatGPT for Kakao and run an AI Golden Bell programme linked to a science ministry competition.
