KRX introduces KRICS industry classification, adds mobility sector
Korea Exchange will introduce its own industry classification system, KRICS, reflecting the domestic industrial structure and the characteristics of listed companies. It will create a standalone mobility sector combining automobiles and parts with passenger transport. KRICS is organised into 9 top-level sectors and a four-tier structure. KRX will publish classification results and market data on its index website from next month and apply KRICS to major indices in the second half.
