Kosdaq hits highest close in 25 years as it reclaims 1,000 level
South Korea’s Kosdaq rose into the so-called “Cheonsdaq” era, topping 1,000 for the first time in more than 4 years on expectations for government policies. The index jumped 7.09 percent to end at 1,064.41, its highest close since Sept. 6, 2000. Institutions led the rally with strong net buying, focused on secondary battery and biotech shares, while retail investors sold heavily to take profits.
