Steam Deck LCD battery discontinuation risk averted as Valve keeps sales via iFixit
Concerns emerged that official replacement batteries for the Steam Deck LCD model could be discontinued, but Valve decided to keep supply going, allowing users to continue buying official batteries through iFixit. Inventory is expected to be secured from next week. The issue began after iFixit CEO Kyle Wiens said Valve had notified him of a possible halt to battery and display production. A Microsoft executive said most countries have failed to develop sovereign LLMs despite heavy investment. Participants called for policy changes on interoperability, data use and certification. South Korean ministries said they share the direction but need public consensus and prioritisation.

KACI appoints KT Cloud CEO Kim Bong-kyun as new chairman
Korea Artificial Intelligence Cloud Industry Association (KACI) has appointed Kim Bong-kyun (김봉균), CEO of KT Cloud, as its new chairman, selecting him at an extraordinary general meeting held in writing on April 20. KACI said it will focus on sustainable growth in the AI and cloud industry by building close cooperation with the government, reflecting industry views in policymaking and strengthening communication channels to improve regulations and find support measures. It also plans programs to help member companies grow and expand new growth engines such as AI data centres and cloud infrastructure.
