Broadcast Media Communications Commission launches second call for SME TV ad support of up to 45 million won

South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Communications Commission said on Thursday it has opened a second call for applications for its broadcast advertising production support programme for small and medium-sized enterprises, with submissions accepted through June 1. The programme will select 2 innovative SMEs for TV advertising support, providing up to 45 million won within 50 percent of production costs. It also offers professional marketing consultations covering planning, production and use of broadcast advertising.

Nexthrus posts 11.6 billion won Q1 revenue, up 76 percent, driven by games, AI and blockchain

Nexthrus posted first-quarter revenue of 11.6 billion won, up 76 percent from a year earlier, helped by global traction in its core games business and expansion in AI and blockchain. Operating profit was 132 million won, down 47.6 percent year on year. Net loss totaled 3.04 billion won due to purchases of assets such as bitcoin. The company plans to expand its game lineup and upgrade its Kross mainnet 2.0 on June 1.

LG Uplus to cut mobile bills for seniors with basic calls and texts

LG Uplus will from next month provide voice calls and text messages as a basic service for senior customers and apply a data safety option to virtually all plans, it said. The company will also expand call and text benefits for customers aged 65 and older and partially restructure its pricing plans. It will end new subscriptions for some general and optional plans on May 31 ahead of launching an integrated plan usable on both 5G and LTE.
