Bitmine\'s Tom Lee says Ethereum will benefit from AI adoption
Bitmine Immersion Technologies founder and chairman Tom Lee has singled out Ethereum as an asset that will benefit from the spread of artificial intelligence. He said broader AI adoption will increase demand for safeguards to control systems, and consumers are unlikely to trust governments, big tech companies or banks to play that role. He reiterated his view in a chairman’s message, while market data showed heavy selling in global semiconductor stocks and declines in major cryptocurrencies.

SharpLink resumes ETH accumulation after 8 months, adds 5,000 at annual low
Ethereum treasury firm SharpLink resumed purchases after eight months, receiving 5,000 ETH worth about $7.85 million from prime broker FalconX as ether slid to $1,537, its lowest level this year. On-chain data showed its last receipt via FalconX was on Oct. 26 last year. SharpLink holds about 876,285 ETH and ETH-converted assets. Rival BitMine holds 5.67 million ETH after adding 52,203 last week.

Former Ethereum Foundation researchers launch Ethlabs backed by BitMine and SharpLink
Five former Ethereum Foundation researchers have set up a nonprofit research and development organisation, Ethlabs, to conduct Ethereum research aimed at shifting institutional investors onchain. CoinPost reported that BitMine and SharpLink are major backers. Ethlabs said its initial work will focus on conditions needed for large-scale institutional flows onchain, including faster settlement, native issuance, cross-chain transfers, mainnet throughput and Ethereum’s monetary characteristics.
