South Korea\'s physics prodigies sweep gold with clean medal haul at international Olympiad
South Korea\'s team won gold medals across the board at the 56th International Physics Olympiad held in Bucaramanga, Colombia, the Science Ministry and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity said. All five Korean contestants took gold, with one ranking first overall. The national team also won gold at the 39th International Young Physicists\' Tournament in Zurich, its first gold there since 2018, after finishing second overall in the preliminary rounds.

South Korea science Olympiad team of 43 holds send-off ceremony ahead of July competitions
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity held a send-off ceremony on Tuesday for the national team for the 2026 International Science Olympiad. The event drew about 200 people, including 43 team members and officials from nine subject committees. The team was selected after 14 months of competition from about 8,000 participants. The team will begin competing on July 4 in Bucaramanga, Colombia.

Korean team wins 10 medals at Asian Physics Olympiad
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity said the country’s 10-member delegation won medals at the 26th Asian Physics Olympiad, held in Busan from May 17 to 25. The team earned 8 gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze in a competition that drew 208 students from 27 countries. Students selected through an International Physics Olympiad training programme all won golds.
