Semiconductor sector entry-level job postings up 47 percent in first half of 2026: JobKorea survey

AI and data-based HR tech platform JobKorea said its analysis of semiconductor job postings for the first half of this year showed a 47 percent rise in entry-level openings from a year earlier. The share of entry-level postings rose 2.4 percentage points to 12.2 percent, the highest level in the past five years. Total semiconductor postings, including experienced roles, rose about 20 percent, outpacing the overall industry increase of 14 percent.

AI travel agency Fora raises $60 million, reaches unicorn status

AI-based travel agency Fora has raised $60 million in a Series D funding round and received a $1 billion valuation. TechCrunch reported on July 16 local time that Forerunner and Tactile Ventures led the investment, with Insight Partners and Thrive Capital also participating. Founded in 2021, Fora connects travel advisors and users and plans to expand its AI assistant, Via, while increasing hiring and broadening into areas such as cruises and airlines.

KT to bring AI to home shopping industry, builds cooperation framework with 12 companies

KT is building an AI and big data-based cooperation framework with South Korean home shopping companies to help revitalise the industry. The company held an insight forum in Seoul on July 16 to discuss sustainable cooperation in line with government home shopping industry policies. Representatives from 12 home shopping firms and related associations attended. KT also presented results and a roadmap for its GSI analysis platform and signed a cooperation agreement with the 12 companies.
