Upstage unveiled its open-weight large language model \'Solar Open 2\' optimised for agent task execution and released the model weights on Hugging Face. Developed through a government sovereign AI foundation model project, it uses a mixture-of-experts design with 250 billion parameters and activates 15 billion in use. Upstage said it outperformed rival models on multiple benchmarks and plans broader deployments and AX services across industries.

South Korea\'s National AI Strategy Committee held an industry meeting on humanoid robots on June 9 with robot and AI companies and academic experts. Participants discussed ways to secure domestic technological sovereignty and speed up deployment in manufacturing and services amid competition from global big tech and overseas firms including China’s Agibot. Private-sector members proposed six policy tasks, including testbeds, edge AI chips and expanded incentives, and the committee delivered the recommendations to relevant ministries.
