The Industry AX and Ecosystem subcommittee of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee held a meeting on spreading industry-specific agentic AI, it said on March 17.

Dong-geun Jo (조동근), CEO of Jo Coding, and Sung-hoon Kim (김성훈), CEO of Upstage, took part as presenters.

Jo presented the latest technology trends in AI agents. He described a shift from a market focused on model development toward agent-centred applied services. He forecast that agent technology will become a key driver in determining the added value of the AI economy.

Kim said AI agents are spreading in the field as executors that support decision-making beyond simple automation. He stressed that improving access to corporate data, linking systems and securing reliability are practical challenges at industrial sites such as finance and manufacturing.

The panel discussion focused on industrial structural changes from the spread of agentic AI and on employment, security and standardisation issues.

Full-time Vice Chair Moon-young Lim (임문영) said, "AI is evolving into agentic AI that judges and executes on its own, and it is establishing itself as a core tool for Industry AX." He added, "We will strengthen strategic support so that South Korea can be reborn as a country that leads the global AI agent market."
