Mythos returns as agentic AI drives security operations center expansion
The U.S. government has lifted export controls on Anthropic’s top AI models, Claude Fable5 and Mythos5, raising expectations of renewed competition among companies seeking to deploy AI models in cyber security. OpenAI has also made limited releases of three GPT-5.6 models, including a top model focused on cyber security. Companies are moving to apply agentic AI to security operations centers, while firms and institutions in and outside South Korea outline new security initiatives and strategies.

AI-driven security strategy sees generational shift as priorities change
Growing concern over cyberattacks that misuse advanced AI models is prompting calls for companies to reset security priorities. With AI able to find software vulnerabilities faster, the focus is shifting to minimising exposure time and adopting zero-trust approaches to contain spread even after a breach. Anthropic and Cloudflare warn that faster patching must be balanced with validation and testing. Governments and firms are also expanding AI-driven security programmes, partnerships and investments.

Mythos emerges as AI-driven mobile app attacks surge
Security firms are publishing early experiences of Anthropic’s AI model Mythos, which was first shared on a limited basis with some companies, with Cloudflare standing out. Cloudflare said Mythos is a tool on a different level from earlier general-purpose frontier models, citing attack-chain building and proof generation. Separately, Anthropic is allowing Mythos users to share cyber threat information with other companies exposed to similar vulnerabilities.
