Hanwha Q CELLS to supply Korean-made modules for South Korea\'s largest 400 MW solar project
Hanwha Q CELLS said on May 21 it will supply Korean-made solar cells and modules to Korea South-East Power for what it called the largest solar power project ever at a single site in South Korea. Korea South-East Power plans to build a 400 MW solar plant on about 4.79 square km in Haenam, South Jeolla Province, aiming for completion in June 2028. About 640,000 modules using cells produced in South Korea will be installed.

National AI computing centre to get Public Growth Fund investment to boost AI infrastructure
South Korea will invest money from the Public Growth Fund in a project to build a national AI computing centre, supporting an AI infrastructure with 15,000 AI chips. A direct investment of 100 billion won in Upstage was also approved to secure sovereign AI. The Financial Services Commission said the fund approved four megaprojects and one regional SME support plan, bringing cumulative approvals to about 84 trillion won.

Woori Financial to raise 500 billion won regional infrastructure fund, invest in Haenam solar and Gochang offshore wind
Woori Financial Group said on Monday it will set up a 500 billion won regional development infrastructure fund to expand investment in renewable energy and national strategic infrastructure. It plans to invest more than 70 percent of the fund’s assets in infrastructure for balanced regional growth and link the fund with the National Growth Fund. Key targets include the Haenam 400 MW solar project and the Gochang 76.2 MW offshore wind project.
