GM to add Google Gemini to 4 million vehicles in U.S.
General Motors will introduce Google’s AI assistant Gemini to about 4 million vehicles in the United States. The update will apply to 2022 model-year and later Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles equipped with Google Built-In. GM plans to deploy the feature over several months via wireless software updates, replacing Google Assistant. Gemini will support messaging, navigation and music recommendations, starting with U.S. English.

Apple hires former Google executive Lilian Rincon to lead AI product marketing
Apple has hired former Google vice president Lilian Rincon as vice president for AI product marketing, NineToFiveMac reported on Thursday. Rincon will oversee marketing and product management for AI platforms including Siri and Apple Intelligence, reporting to Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Greg Joswiak. She previously led global product teams at Google. The hire comes as Apple reshapes its AI organisation.
