Apple has hired Google vice president Lilian Rincon (Lilian Rincon) as vice president of AI product marketing, Apple-focused outlet NineToFiveMac reported on Thursday.
Rincon will oversee marketing and product management for AI platforms including Siri and Apple Intelligence. She will report directly to Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Greg Joswiak.
Rincon led a global product organisation at Google for 9 years and was responsible for Google Shopping and Google Assistant. She previously held key roles at Microsoft and Skype. She recently said on LinkedIn that she was leaving Google, adding, "I am very excited about a new challenge."
The appointment came as Apple reshapes its AI team. In December, Apple hired former Google executive Amar Subramanya as vice president for AI. Changes have continued in the AI organisation after John Giannandrea stepped down as senior vice president for machine learning and AI strategy.
