Voice AI becomes big tech battleground as Google hires key Hume AI staff
Google DeepMind has hired the CEO and key engineers from AI voice startup Hume AI, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 22, citing Wired. Google plans to integrate Hume AI’s emotion-recognition voice technology into Gemini AI. Hume AI analyzes users’ voices to identify emotions and mood and last year launched its Empathetic Voice Interface. PitchBook data show Hume AI has raised $80 million and expects $100 million in revenue this year.
