SKT\'s Jung says it must become \'AI infrastructure architect\', not just a telecoms carrier
Jung Jaeheon (정재헌), CEO of SK Telecom, said the company\'s full-stack AI strategy drew strong attention in global markets at MWC 26 in Barcelona. Writing for SKT Newsroom, he compared the event to the construction site of Barcelona\'s Sagrada Familia basilica. He said telecoms carriers should move beyond being simple data pipes and become AI infrastructure architects, designing and operating infrastructure, while pursuing change focused on customers.

SKT\'s Haein GPU cluster wins GLOMO best cloud solution award
SK Telecom said on Wednesday its Haein graphics processing unit cluster won the best cloud solution award at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2026. The company said Haein is a high-performance GPU infrastructure built as a single cluster with more than 1,000 Nvidia B200 chips based on the next-generation Blackwell AI accelerator. SKT said it is using the cluster to expand its GPU-as-a-service business and provide a computing environment optimised for large-scale AI model training and inference.

LG Uplus wins three GLOMO awards including CTO Choice
LG Uplus said on Wednesday it won three awards at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2026, including the top CTO Choice prize in the Mobile Tech category. It cited AI security technology used in its ixi-O AI agent service, including on-device real-time detection of tampered voice. Its ixi-Guardian integrated security technology also won in network security and fraud prevention, and it received a marketing award for social value.
